Happy Doing Business with Sun Cellular! September 2, 2008

Sun Cellular may seem like the underdog in the telecommunications “war” in the Philippines with Globe and smart leading the pack.  However, for business people like me who need to keep in constant touch with our four food outlets, switching to Sun Cellular is definitely a wise decision.  And believe me,  it has proven its worth to me in just three days! (Mind you, this is not a paid ad.)

Last month, my cellphone bill has gone up to a record-breaking high.  On the average, just to monitor all the stores (meaning, personal calls and texts excluded), I usually log in around 20-30 minutes of calls per day…and of course, you still need to add to that all the text messages I send out each day.  No matter how much I try to limit my phone usage, I ALWAYS go way, way, WAAAAAY past the free call and text allocations of my postpaid plan specially if there are problems in our burger outlets that need to be resolved ASAP – which is almost always the case.

I tried to remedy the situation by upgrading my postpaid plan so I could get cheaper call rates, more free call minutes and text messages.  I also went back to using my prepaid SIM so I can subscribe to unlimited texting services.  This, however, still did not help much in really lessening my communications expenses.

Just last weekend, I decided to get myself a Sun SIM and changed all the stores’ prepaid SIM cards to Sun as well.  I truly, truly enjoyed the 2-day unlimited free calls and texts.  Actually, I didn’t even try sending an SMS message.  Why text when I can call?!! Haha!

Today is actually the first day that I’ve actually e-loaded all the phones.  I loaded SulitCalls 30 for myself and the Combo Call and Text 10 for each of the stores.  I got an hour’s worth of Sun-to-Sun calls which expires in 7 days.  Today, I logged in 22 minutes worth of calls and I still have 38 more minutes left.  And it just cost me 30 bucks instead of 120+ pesos!  And with 10 bucks, even the crew can afford to call me as they also get 10 minutes worth of free Sun-to-Sun calls!

While I still maintain my postpaid plan with Smart, I am enjoying the benefits of my Sun prepaid in my business because it is really cost-effective.  Who knows, if Sun would really go all out in improving its reach and its network services, I might just make a complete switch. ;)

Greets, bad news today

I just joined this forum and see that it is very active and full of people with great ideas. It seems like you all support each other well here too. I am looking for advice as I got laid off from my job 3 months ago and it looks like the mortgage company is going to foreclose on my home.

Do any of you have any advice or are you in a similar position?

I know this is a bit off topic for this forum so maybe you can please join me at LayOffRant.com and we can talk through what’s going on with me and the economy in the USA.
